Why mindful moments promote your health and wellbeing:
When we stay busy and distracted, we miss what our nervous system has been collecting - day after day.
Much of this information is stored implicitly, beneath conscious awareness, and it can accumulate in the mind and body. Over time, this unprocessed content may show up as symptoms: anxiety, fatigue, chronic stress, or physical tension.
The body’s language is non-verbal. It communicates not through logic or words, but through sensations, impulses, and patterns. In your Mindful Moment, we shift from analysing to noticing and following, learning how to tune into the body’s signals without judgment or overthinking.
As the saying goes, what we resist, persists. Whether we're aware of it or not, the body will always seek an opportunity to bring unresolved material to the surface—to be seen, felt, and integrated. In your Mindful Moment, we create space for this natural process to unfold. When the body is acknowledged and supported in this way, you’re left feeling more informed, more in control, and less “hijacked” by your internal experience.
By consistently using mindful skills to reconnect and integrate mind and body, you are quite literally changing your neurobiology. You’re improving your nervous system’s ability to process, regulate, and communicate. Like building a muscle, the more you practice, the stronger and more automatic these skills become—leaving you better resourced to meet daily life with clarity and resilience.
Hi, I’m Alex (she/her), and I’ll be guiding you through your Mindful Moments.
Mindfulness gets a lot of attention these days, especially as our awareness of mental health continues to grow. But I don’t think the real magic of mindfulness is communicated very well. It’s not just about slowing down—it’s about understanding how your nervous system works, and giving it what it needs to function well.
In learning about the human nervous system, I realised something important: I needed some of the same support I was offering to my clients. So I built my own carefully curated support system—one that includes Reiki, Brainspotting therapy, breathwork, and a somatic therapist who connects with me in a body-based, attuned way.
You might be wondering why I have so many people supporting me. You’re not alone—friends and family ask me that, too. My answer is simple:
My life is full, fast, and I love it—but I want to stay well.
Having access to these supportive spaces gives me balance. And because I feel and function better (most of the time—this doesn’t make me superhuman!), I’m able to handle challenges with more clarity and resilience. I see them coming before they knock me off my feet or lead to burnout.

Need more reasons to join us for your mindful moment?
Your children will benefit too.
I weave these tools into my parenting all the time—from brainspotting to helping my kids talk to different parts of their bodies. The practices you’ll experience don’t just support you; they ripple outward. My children now use these same techniques to regulate their own nervous systems. They've also developed a rich emotional vocabulary—an invaluable bonus resource. You’ll be better regulated and more receptive to joy.
When we train our attention to focus on things like gratitude, we actually start to notice them more. And when we notice them, our nervous system responds with those “feel-good” chemicals—dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin—that boost wellbeing and resilience. You’ll feel more balanced.
Life is not balanced—and I’m unapologetic in saying that. We're constantly pushed to work harder, faster, and more productively. But this state of constant output is unsustainable for your nervous system. We need intentional ways to tap out and recharge. I hope your mindful moment becomes a vital part of how you do just that.
Who are the mindful moments for?
Anyone aged 15 and older – The content and practices are suitable and beneficial for teens and adults. (If your younger teenager is emotionally mature or developmentally ready, you’ll likely know.)
Those curious about their mind and body – Especially if you're interested in learning how your inner world impacts your health, self-relationship, and connections with loved ones.
Anyone feeling stressed, anxious, run-down, overwhelmed, absent-minded, irritated, or emotionally stretched – (This list isn’t exhaustive.)
People who feel like life is happening to them – If your symptoms seem to come out of nowhere, you're not alone. Developing awareness helps you pause, reflect, and regain a sense of choice and agency.
Parents who want to show up with more energy, patience, and presence – Those who want to enjoy their children more, not just manage them.
Anyone who has tried mindfulness and given up – Especially if your mind wandered, you got frustrated, or felt like you were “doing it wrong.”
Are these neuro-afforming?
Absolutely - that’s the short answer.
Alex has completed a diploma in neurodiversity-informed practice and understands the importance of adapting to support neurodivergent nervous systems. You are actively encouraged to communicate any needs or preferences, and clear opportunities will be provided to do so. While Alex works inclusively with all clients, the Mindful Moments ethos is grounded in co-creating a space that is safe, flexible, and responsive—recognising the importance of open, honest dialogue and neuro-affirming support.
Mindful moments are not the same as receiving therapy, it is not specific to your personal needs, only to the human need.
These moments will compliment any additional therapies, including exercise.
